Carricante, gaja "idda", sicily

A joint venture between iconic winemaker Angelo Gaja and the prominent Mount Etna-based Graci family. "Idda" translates to "she" in the Sicilian dialect, and the refers to the Etna Volcano. The wine seeks to capture the essence of the terroir of the volcano, where the grapes of this wine grow on the southwest slope. Aged additionally for one year in a combination of oak and steel, this wine is complex, showing an array of aromatics from ripe peach and tropical fruit, with mineral undertones
