"When we first opened, people asked for an ube ice cream, but ube just isn't novel or inspirational to me. If I were to do an ube cream, it'd be my own rendition. I didn't want to replicate an authentic ube ice cream. Instead, I wanted to capture ube in a way that also reflected my American upbringing." - chef, adrienne borlongan. It took months, but in july of 2016, we introduced ube malted crunch. Made with malted milk, sweet purple yams, & crunchy malted milk pieces, this ice cream starts with an old fashioned American malt flavor but ends with an undeniable ube taste.
